Gratitude
This month, September, I celebrate 22 years in private practice, full time, as a Holistic Nurse. It’s hard to believe so many years have passed. I love being of service and resource to clients and the community, where I can offer healing with a variety of Holistic Health therapies. My office always has been, and continues to be, open to anyone of any age who needs help and is willing to make lifestyle changes to improve and maintain their health. For 22 years, a major joy in my life has been to be of service to clients who choose a healing path. Watching people heal and grow is greatly satisfying to me. As I turn 65 in October, I have every intention to continue offering these services to my clients, and I am excited to assist more people in their healing process. Long ago I let go of the cultural stigma of retirement. I am healthy, and I have a passion for what I do. Why change what is already great? I want to thank all of those who have benefited from my services in the office, on the phone, over email, and in classes. Each one of you has made it possible for me to follow my soul purpose and a journey like no other. Thank you, thank you, and thank you! May each of your lives be blessed.
Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States that occurs on the final Monday of each May. It was originally known as Decoration Day, and it served to commemorate the fallen Union soldiers of the Civil War. By the early 20th century, Memorial Day was extended to honor all Americans who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Today, Memorial Day is an occasion to remember all of our deceased loved ones and the spaces they fill in our lives and hearts. This is a day of remembrance of those who have gone before us – young, old, relatives and friends. This day I honor my children and their father. My children gracefully endured the passing of their father after a long illness. Every challenge along the road of his path my children took in stride and held steady. Blessings to all.
To practice self-induced healing is only possible when we listen to the messages our bodies give us. Once we hear our bodies, we must also imagine the desired outcome. Our bodies communicate with us to let us know when we are out of balance. This is your body’s way of trying to restore your internal balance. If your body responds in situations because of past mistakes, you need to 1) acknowledge the message your body is sending; 2) accept your emotions; 3) forgive yourself and others of past mistakes; 4) be aware of the choices you are making.
We can use the GIFT method to help let go of past experiences and mistakes: G – gratitude: this teaches us to change our perception of present events I – imagination & intention: shows we are ready to change and allows us to create a different desired outcome in our present situation F – forgive: we must forgive and accept ourselves and others in order to move forward T – trust: we must trust and believe that what we want to happen will happen, which trains our bodies to respond in a new way.
By imagining a world of positive possibilities, we will perceive that world to be true.
I began my practice in Holistic Nursing in 1990. My passion is to be of service to people. It is through the motivation you have for your health that makes it possible for me to serve you as a Holistic Nurse every day. Thank you very much, and have a wonderful, grateful holiday!
