Not to be Missed: 8 Nutritious Veggies in One Salad to Last All Week!

detox salad
Since I am anticipating the start of 2013, I could not help but begin looking for new, healthy recipes, especially ones that will be easy to store and have on hand for the week. Two clients shared this recipe with me. I tried this Detox Salad, and I loved it with the recommended dressing.

This salad contains a powerhouse of nutrients. I could not begin to figure out all the nutrients this salad contains in just one cup/serving. Of course, I recommend using all organic ingredients for the highest nutritional concentration of good, clean food. It does take a little work to prepare, and having a food processor makes it much easier than doing all the chopping by hand. This delicious, nutritious salad is definitely worth the work!

Initially, I made ½ the recipe, and I ate a cup each day for a week. Try it for yourself!

Detox Salad (adapted from Oh She Glows Detox Salad). Makes about 12 cups.

1 Bunch Carrots (approximately ¾ pound of carrots after the greens are removed)
2 Bunches Broccoli
1 Head Cauliflower
3-4 Leaves Kale
Approximately ½ cup fresh parsley (more if you prefer)
½ cup sunflower seeds
½ cup raisins
1 cup currants (Raisins may be substituted if necessary)

Chop all ingredients and combine in a bowl. Or, use a food processor, if you prefer.

Tahini Dressing: mixes well in the food processor
2/3 cup Tahini nut butter
2/3 cup filtered water
½ cup freshly squeezed lemons
1-1.5 teaspoons salt

Enjoy these recipes together on a daily basis, and begin detoxing anytime.

Have You Cleaned Your House Lately?

A note from Biotics Research: Biotics Research has changed Bio-Immunozyme Forte™ from a tablet to a capsule. The formulation was not changed and so the recommended dosage remains the same.

Have you cleaned your house lately? By your house, I mean your body. This is the ideal time of year for your body to become renewed by detoxifying the collection of chemicals and toxins that have not been metabolized. These toxins may have been in your system for months or even years! Sooner or later, the build-up of these toxins creates symptoms of a disease or unknown obvious cause.

Personally, I have detoxified annually for years. The benefits for me include:

  • Eliminating cravings, especially after the holidays
  • Relieving headaches
  • Increasing my mental clarity
  • Creating a jumpstart on losing pounds accumulated during the holidays and winter
  • Eliminating joint aches and pains

Each person will experience a unique set of benefits, as each person has a different body chemistry that needs to be cleansed.

The best way to understand the process and advantages of detoxification is to watch this 4-minute video on Detoxification by clicking here. After watching this video, I can help you take the necessary steps to implement this health plan!

Assessment of Your Environmental Exposure

Since we live in a dynamic environment and there is chemical exposure on a regular basis, it is up to us to make lifestyle choices that will help our bodies stay healthy and as chemical-free as possible.

Healthy food choices can help support every cell of the body to work at optimal levels. Every time you eat, you have the chance to treat your body well or to poison it. The choice is yours! By choosing high quality organic fruits and vegetables on a daily basis, you can reduce cell damage, oxidative stress, and abnormal cell growth.

Take time to review your entire lifestyle and begin simple changes to improve your health…

  • Your Mind: Is it often flooded with negative thoughts or unhappiness?
  • Your Body: How does it feel? Excited and full of energy for the day?
  • Your Spirit: Are you living your passion and heart’s desire?
  • Your Toxicity: What is in your home, office, car, and yard?
  • Your Exercise: Do you do aerobic exercise 3-4 times a week?
  • Your Nutrition: What types of nutrients are you putting in your body? Are you eating live food or dead food?
  • Your Sleep: Do you get 8 restful hours each night?

The best way to stay out of our “sick care system” is to STAY WELL. Call for an appointment to assess your environmental exposure and lifestyle to increase your wellness.

Toxic Exposure: Sight Unseen

The environmental toxins that are absorbed into our bodies are not processed and eliminated easily from the body. Many times, these toxins can be the underlying cause of repeated symptoms and the level of severity of health problems.

Each person has a bio-individuality that makes us more or less sensitive to certain chemicals in our environment. There are many common responses to chemicals, but we all react to the chemicals differently. What may not affect one person may make another person very ill.

There is substantial evidence that children with ADHD, particularly boys, have higher concentrations of pesticides and organophosphates in their bodies. The higher the level of toxins is, the greater the risk of ADHD.

All of these toxins can accumulate in any part of our bodies. Some toxins are attracted to our nerve cells, some to the thyroid, some to our gastrointestinal tract, etc. For this reason, it is important to do annual detoxifications to cleanse the body of the toxins. You should choose a detoxification that is gentle, easy to fit into your lifestyle, and professionally supervised to be as effective as possible. I can help you find a detox program to specifically suit your needs.
